Summary
Questionnaire
What is your involvement in independent games? Voice Actor |
What brought you to games originally? It was a natural extension of my work as a voice actor. I find indie games the most innovative. |
What are some of your favorite games and why? Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, Journey. I love the storytelling and mythology behind these games. |
Who are some of your favorite artists (not related to games) and why? Hayao Miyazaki, Giuseppe Verdi, J.R.R. Tolkien. I love Miyazaki's animation and storytelling, Verdi's operas are lyrically compelling and Tolkien single-handedly created the modern fantasy genre. |
What is your philosophy on creativity as it relates to games? I want games to go beyond gameplay physics and to have meaning. They should resonate with the same aesthetic arrest as any great piece of art. |
What is your philosophy on creativity as it relates to life? I'm fond of Joseph Campbell's work on Archetypal Hero Journeys as well as Joyce's definition of proper and improper art. My belief is the hand is no different from what it creates. |
What defines community in your eyes? I'm not sure. I don't feel like I'm a part of any community. I'm still searching for my Sangha. |
